Jacob had to go out of town this week for work so I thought what a perfect time to work on Jakes new room. Roxie and I painted and hung decorations last night so it would be done before Jacob got home tonight. I can't wait to see what he thinks about all of it.

19 week ultrasound pics!
We had our ultrasound last Friday (March 5th) and it's no doubt a BOY! Jacob is SUPER excited. Along with every other guy in our families.
I packed up all the cute pink girl stuff and got all the girls clothes together so I could return everything after the doctors appt if it was in fact a boy. I had 6 Wal-Mart sacks full of girl things to be exchanged.
Here are some of the images that we got at our appt this time.

16 week ultrasound pics...looks like we have a JAKE on the way!
Sorry, I didn't know how to use the scanner at work and finally got it figured out this morning so here are the latest pics that we got at 16 weeks. This was the first time that the thought of Baby Young #1 being a BOY even went through my mind.
After comparing these ultrasound pics with some other friends that have boys or are having a boy...I'm convinced that we are gonna be having a Jake instead of Jaycie. I guess I'll just have to pack up all the cute girl stuff that I made for Baby Young #2.

We are having our 20 week ultrasound with 3D pics this Friday so I will let you guys know what we find out for sure.

Awwww....
I had a meeting all day in Spring yesterday. I got a text message from the girls at the office saying that I had received flowers from flowers.com and the card said from Jacob & Jaycie. I thought they were playing a trick on me because I don't even get flowers and why would Jacob send them saying from him and JAYCIE when he is soooo excited about it possibly being a boy.
So when they sent me a picture of them, I started thinking it was my mom being funny because she doesn't believe that it's a boy. She promised that she had nothing to do with it. I couldn't call Jacob because he was with his boss. He doesn't use the internet so I for sure didn't think he sent them. I was wrong! He ordered them last week before we found out that it might be Jake instead of Jaycie. How sweet! I should really start giving him more credit.

Looks like we might be getting a JAKE instead of JAYCIE!
After all the baby name picking, making pink stuff for the room and all of the super cute girl clothes that my mom has bought...I think we are having a BOY!!
Yesterday, one of my friends has a good friend that is the ultrasound tech at the hospital here. She is also one of my customers so we asked her if she would do an ultrasound for me to see what the baby is going to be. She told us to be up there at 3:45! I was excited but VERY nervous at the same time. The nervousness should have been the first sign that this wasn't going to be a GIRL. I laid down (already feeling like I could throw up) and she started. Immediately, she asked..."what do you want this to be?". Of course, I said "GIRL" because that's what I have be getting ready for this whole time. She turned around and wouldn't look at me! So that pretty much gave it away but the Leanna asked..."it's a BOY, isn't it?"
Yep! There HE was, legs spread wide open and his butt against the front of my stomach. I started feeling even more sick at this point. I guess mainly because we had been preparing for a girl and girl stuff is sooo cute.
2 doctors GUESSED girl and the $40 Intelligender test said girl. I guess all 3 could be wrong! That's just my luck.
I called Jacob before I even got off the table and he was SUPER excited. My mom didn't believe me. Nana called before I got out of the room.
We decided that we wanted to compare the pics we had with other 16 week BOY ultrasound images on the internet. So we went to Steve's and sure enough, they are pretty convincing. They didn't look anything like the GIRL images that we saw.
I still have my 20 week ultrasound on March 11th at my doctors office and I think I will get more 3D images so I'm holding off on taking down all the pink stuff that I have made.
But...more than likely...we will have a Jake instead of Jaycie.

Crib bedding is on it's way!
My grandma (Nana) just emailed me that she & Pop ordered the baby crib bedding this morning! Yea!
Here is a picture of the one that we decided to go with. I thought I could add some pink & brown zebra to it with pillows and curtains. The 4 piece set includes the crib skirt, fitted sheet, bumper pads and blanket.
I'm going to attempt to make the diaper holder, curtains and laundry hamper. Wish me luck!

Week 15 & 175 days to go!!
Babycenter.com says that Baby Young #1 is about the size of an apple now. Better than a blueberry when we first found out! 4 to 4 1/2 inches and about 2 ounces.
Nothing to exciting has been happening. So that's why it's been a while since the last blog.

My grandma got a new sewing machine and couldn't ever get it to work right so she told me that I could have it if I could get it work. Last Wednesday Jacob and I went to Houston for him to take test to become a registered sanitarian. He passed!!! My mom took the afternoon off so we could go shopping while he was taking the test and brought me the sewing machine. I haven't done any sewing since 7th grade so I don't know why I thought I could fix the sewing machine if my grandma couldn't but anyways. So Thursday we worked on it all day and it just wouldn't work. It was skipping stitches. Michelle (Roxies mom) even came up to our work to see if she could figure it out for us. No such luck! Neta told me to check the needle. Sounded like such an elementary thing to do. Surely my grandma who had sewn her whole life didn't put the needle in wrong. Friday I decided that maybe I should check it after reading the instruction book and that's the first thing that it told me to check also. Guess what...the needle was in backward and the sewing machine has worked perfectly since.
Here are the projects that I just had to do this weekend with the new sewing machine. I REALLY hope this is a girl or I'm gonna have to sell all of this stuff on ebay.
Bassinet Bumper Pads
Rocking Chair Cushions & pillows
Oh and some more cute baby clothes that my mom and Tim bought for the baby. Yes, TIM...who thinks me and my mom are crazy...picked the camo stuff out and said Jaycie HAD to have them.
