First Doctors Appt today

I had my first ultrasound this morning and she thinks I'm 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant which would mean that Baby Young #2 should be here on or around August 23rd. I'm REALLY thinking about not finding out the sex of the baby this time. I don't know if we will be able to handle not knowing because we aren't very good at secrets but I think it would be fun! So for right now, I'm saying we aren't going to find out.

Also, since Jake was 4 1/2 weeks early, I will have to start taking shots called 17P (Alpha-Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate) once a week starting when I'm 15 weeks along to help Baby Young #2 not come see us to early.

New Baby = More Projects

Our house is already full so with another little one on the way, we have to start making room. Jacob, Steve and I started enclosing our front porch yesterday to make a bigger closet/storage area for all of my stuff so I can get it out of the guest bedroom/second baby room.

Here is what we finished yesterday...

Jakes Surgery

Jake had his surgery Friday to remove the skin tag from his right ear. Everything went well after it was over but the night before was another story. Normally he eats around 8:30 and goes to bed for the night, ready to eat again about 6am. So I really thought it wouldn't be a problem for him to have surgery at 8am without having a bottle after midnight. However, we stayed the night at my dads house and Jake didn't sleep AT ALL. We were up most of the night but he wasn't crying unless I tried to put him down. So I thought I would be smart and lay in bed with him on my chest and try to get some rest. That might have worked when he was smaller but now he grabs my face, hair, clothes or whatever else he can. Needless to say, neither one of us slept. He was in a good mood all morning even though he hadn't eaten since 11pm. It helped that he was the first appt. The whole procedure took about 15 or 20 minutes and then I fed him and we headed home. He was super fussy in the car so Jacob fed him another bottle and he sucked it down. My poor baby was starving but then he was perfect the rest of the day. He hasn't acted like his ear has bothered him at all. We are so glad that we got this done and out of the way so he wouldn't have to deal with it later.

Wellll....WAYYYY earlier than ever expected...Jake is going to be a BIG brother!

Yes, you read that right! Jake is going to be a BIG brother at the end of August. Honestly I was completely ok with Jake being an only child but I guess that wasn't what God had planned for Jacob and I. I have been on birth control since I had Jake and never skipped a day because I didn't want any more kids. However, Jake has been sick non-stop since we put him in day care and Jacob and I start taking meds as soon as he gets sick so we won't get it. Lesson learned the hard way...Amoxicillin doesn't have to come from a doctor to be an antibiotic when you can buy it in Mexico! That is the only thing that we can come up with as to how this could happen. I'm still freaking out but Jacob is EXCITED. I don't know if I'm mentally, emotionally or financially ready for all of this but I guess I have about 7 1/2 or 8 months to get myself ready. Ready or Not...here comes baby Young #2!

Wish me luck with staying sane!

Doctor appt next Thursday January 20th to find out more details on the expected due date. I will keep yall posted.

Dr Appt Updates

Dec 27th we took Jake for his consult about is ear surgery, the doctor acted like it was no big deal, he would schedule the surgery asap. It's now the 6th of January and they still haven't scheduled anything or even called me back like they keep telling me. A little annoying! In the 2.5 seconds that the doctor was in the office talking to us, he said that they would be able to just give him gas to relax him, cut it off and put in 2-3 stitches. The whole procedure should take about 30 minutes.

Jan 3rd- Jake had his six month check-up and shots. This is the first round of shots that he has a had a reaction to. He was really fussy all day afterward, had a fever and wouldn't put an pressure on his legs. Poor baby! He weighed 17.5 pounds and was 27 inches long. Dr. Williams said that he has caught up with a full term baby on his growth charts now and to keep doing that we have been doing.

2 weeks later...here are some Christmas pics.

I know Christmas was 2 weeks ago already but anyways...

Jakes first Christmas was fun for Jacob and I because we had lots of gifts to open for Jake. Jake however, didn't care about anything other than all of the pretty colored wrapping paper. Jacob and I played with toys and Jake played with the paper. We could have saved lots of money had we just thought about giving him wrapping paper for Christmas.

Hopefully he will be a little more interested next year!
