Our White Christmas was Wonderful!

We left Livingston at 5:30 Tuesday night to start our road trip to new Mexico. Our first stop was in Decatur to get a couple of hours of rest until Tiff & Felix met up with us at 2am. Then we were off for the rest of our 9 hour drive! We didn't see any snow or mountains until we got into Ruidoso. We were worried that we had all driven that far to have a white Christmas and wouldn't see any snow. Then, we passed our first snow plow truck and knew that it must be "snowy" ahead. That's when I got excited! We couldn't check in for another 2 hours but Jake and I decided to find the cabin so we would know we were in the right spot. We found it alright but then...getting out of there was another story. We got stuck twice trying to go up the road because of the snow & ice on the road. Talk about being scared, all I could imagine was our car falling of the side of the mountain. I was trying to plan my exit of the vehicle!

Christmas Eve everyone wanted to go skiing so I decided that I would go up the mountain with them to get some good pics of everyone falling since I wasn't allowed to ski. Problem #1...cameras aren't made for 10,000 feet above sea level so my camera wouldn't even turn on. Problem #2...I'm sitting there trying to stay warm, look up and there is my dad, sitting there on the deck not skiing. He broke his collarbone on the 2nd trip down the mountain. Maybe lessons would have been a good idea. After taking him to the hospital that night and everyone in there having broken bones from skiing, Jacob decided that he didn't need to go skiing anymore.

Michael had to be back Sunday night to go back off shore we decided that we were heading home Saturday morning. After one day of sitting in the cabin doing nothing, dad decided he was riding home with us too. 12 hours stuck in the back seat of the car packed in like sardines wasn't the most comfortable trip but we made it. Dad and Michael were hilarious, they both smoke and said before we left New Mexico that they couldn't smoke in the vehicle because they didn't want to hurt the baby. They weren't worried about ME but the BABY. Thanks guys...love yall too!
